Dust regularly with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. Remember to change the cloth regularly, as dirty cloths can scratch the furniture surface. You can also use a clear furniture varnish when the wood begins to lose its shine. Don't forget to protect your surfaces from coasters, candlesticks or other decorative objects that could cause permanent scratches and rings on the varnished surface. If you spill any liquid, such as water, on your furniture, wipe it up immediately to avoid soaking the wood.
